ASC's Homegrown: Publishing Team Application
In the 1980s, the Asian Student Commission self-published three volumes of an anthology on the Asian experience in America. Titled Homegrown, the journal collected submissions from UW students, staff, faculty, and alumni. Each compilation required the collaborative efforts of students dedicated to Asian literary and artistic expression. In 1986, the project was indefinitely discontinued.

Following its three-decade hiatus, we are very excited to announce that Homegrown, Vol. 4 will be published in May 2018!

Involvement in the UW and/or greater Seattle Asian community desired but not required. Please forward all questions to ASC Director Emily Tasaka ( or Editor-in-Chief Katie Chua (
