The California Healthy Nail Salon Collaborative was founded by Asian Health Services in 2005 to improve the health, safety, and rights of the nail salon workforce. We are a statewide coalition of 25 organizations that engage in cross-movement building to ensure that the public associates beauty care with sustainable, just and dignified working conditions, products and services.
Because the majority of manicurists in California are low-income, Vietnamese women of childbearing age, we approach our organizing from an intersectional lens—parsing the layers through which labor and economic justice overlap with reproductive justice and immigrant rights.
Whether or not you're part of the nail salon industry, we want to learn about your experiences. Help us build a more empowered and representative society by adding your name to this pledge card and letting us know what matters to you!
