The Synodal Journey
My Dear Friends,

Greetings of Peace and Love to all of you !

From various communications from the Vatican, from our Bishop Paul and from our Vicariate sources of communication, you are all well aware that the Universal Church has declared an extraordinary event of a universal “SYNOD” for the entire church. It is one of its kind in the history of the church. It is a synod on a “Synodal Church”.

The purpose of this synod is that the church with its entire hierarchy wants to listen to all the faithful as well as listen to the whole world regarding the church’s presence in the world as the universal sacrament of salvation. The Universal synod will take place in the year 2023 in Rome. In preparation for that event, Pope Francis has invited the entire church to start listening to the faithful from the grass-root level. Every member of the church has a voice and that voice should be heard in advance before the church actually meets in the synod of 2023.

Here is a forum open to you to speak freely about your views on the church as the universal sacrament of salvation. The church fulfils this salvific mission through its proclamation of the Word of God, celebration and administration of the seven sacraments, works of mercy through channels of charity, health-care ministry, education ministry, promotion of human values for the integral growth of humanity and so on.
Do you in reality experience that through these means the church stands out as a pillar of hope to the whole world ?

I wish that all of you reflect on these vital issues and come out with your personal views which will go a long way to renew and refresh the church, which is our dear mother.

You will have opportunities to come up with your freedom to talk to the church through your communities, through your prayer groups, through the various ministries in our church and through this column, especially, on the website. Do not shy away from giving your constructive views on how the church should be loved, respected and cherished by the whole world.

Avoid negativity and be positive in whatever you feel like saying. All that you say will be carefully recorded, respecting your privacy, consolidated and send up to the Vicariate level committee instituted by our Bishop.

I wish you all the grace and peace of Our Lord Jesus Christ!
