All workshop are filled on a first-come-first-serve basis. So call early to get your spot this summer. Each event must have five 4-H members registered to be held, unless noted in the description. Youth 12 years of age and older are welcome to volunteer as a Junior Leader at the noted workshops.

FLORICULTURE WORKSHOP

Date: Thursday, May 28

Time: 1 PM - 3 PM
Location: Wayne County Fairgrounds, 4-H Building
Age Range: 8+

Get ready to dig in, design, and create! In this hands-on floriculture workshop, participants will explore the art and science of flowers by designing their own hanging basket using key design principles. Then, they’ll get a little messy while crafting seed balls and discovering the powerful benefits of native plants for pollinators and the environment. To top it off, participants will learn how to properly prepare and present cut flowers for the fair. Whether you’re a budding gardener or a flower enthusiast, this workshop is the perfect place to grow your skills and creativity!

Fair Entry: Participants will have a variety of cultivars so that they could be individually entered in cut flower classes. Participants will be given plant identification materials.

The best smell is something baking! Healthy snacking is important for great living. We will explore how to make a healthy quick bread and a creative cookie using a muffin mix.

Connie and Marsha will be back to lead us through the amazing world of painting. We will discover new techniques and colors as we create a one-of-a-kind masterpiece!

Turn your everyday smart device into a powerful creative tool! In this hands-on photography workshop, participants will learn how to capture stunning images. Explore the basics of lighting, composition, and perspective while discovering tips and tricks to elevate your photos. Please bring your own smart device capable of taking photos.

DOG WORKOUTS

June 10 will be the initial workout, and we will visit about the dates that will work best for everyone. Workouts will be held weekly through the week of July 15. Come and learn more about dog obedience and showmanship. Dogs are welcome so youth can practice, but please make sure your dog is current on Rabies, Distemper, Hepatitis, and Parvo Vaccinations. Add your dog's name and breed in the "Other" section.
