Uprooting Racism with Soul Fire Farm
Uprooting Racism will be a theory and action training for community garden leaders to uproot systemic racism. We will delve deep into the history of our community gardens and examine our personal and collective roles as stewards of the land and as facilitators. Much of the time will be spent developing tangible action plans for uprooting these oppressions within our own gardens. Preference for this training will be given to members of registered NYC Parks GreenThumb community gardens who can attend both training sessions and who apply with another member from their garden.

Gardeners with all levels of experience with discussing these issues are welcome to apply.

Applications are due by 11:59 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 8. Space is limited. Applicants will be notified of their acceptance by the second week of January. Like all GreenThumb workshops, this training is free of charge.

Friday, Feb. 21 // 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Saturday, Feb. 22 // 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Location will be provided to participants and will be in Manhattan.
