Farmington Fire Rescue STATION TOURS, FIREFIGHTER VISITS, & COMMUNITY EVENTS
You can request an educational firefighter visit for your group, a tour of your local station or participation in a community event. We ask that you please try to schedule visits or tours at least 4 weeks in advance.

Station Tours
Station tours last approximately 20 to 45 minutes and include viewing the fire trucks, areas of the station and equipment, as well as talking to firefighters about their job and learning important fire safety tips. An adequate number of chaperones must be present to quickly clear individuals from the fire trucks and moved to a safe area if there is an emergency.

Fire stations remain "in-service" during tours. Firefighters may need to respond to emergencies at any time. If they do, it will be necessary for the tour to end and your group to exit the station.

Firefighter Visits
Schools and community groups may request for a firefighter visit at your location. A parking area must be provided where the fire engine/truck can get in and out quickly in the event of an emergency. An adequate number of chaperones must be present to quickly clear individuals from the fire engine/truck if there is an emergency.

Firefighters may need to respond to emergencies at any time. If they do, it will be necessary for the visit to end and the Firefighters will need to leave for the emergency.

Community Events
Department participation can be requested for events that are open to the public, including but not limited to; health fairs, festivals and other community outreach opportunities.

Please See contact information below to arrange a meeting to discuss your event.

PLEASE NOTE: General announcements and notifications of emergency runs are transmitted over loudspeakers and often accompanied by loud bells and tones. Emergency run announcements will be followed by rapid activity by the members in order to respond quickly, and horns and sirens will be used exiting the building. Younger children might be frightened by all this. Please make them aware of what might happen while they are visiting so they are prepared. Also, while showing our fire gear and apparatus, we try to present age-appropriate fire safety information to the kids. For younger children, especially those under 5, the visit will be more of a chance to simply see the firefighters and apparatus up close, and the visit will be shorter than for older kids.

The day of your visit: Call 603-755-2131, our fire department.. When connected, double check that your visit is expected and confirm your time and number of visitors. Upon arrival, if the station is empty, that means the firefighters had an emergency run. Call Lt. Gagnon (207-651-6933) tell him you are at the station for a visit and ask if they know how long before the firefighters return. You can then decide to wait or call and reschedule a visit.

If you need to cancel: Call Lt. Gagnon (207-651-6933), . When contacted , tell him of your cancellation.
