Field Representative Application ('21-'22)
Title: Our Climate National Field Representative
Location: Remote. Anyone located in the United States is encouraged to apply.
Suggested age range: 14-24
Compensation: This is an unpaid position. College credit available depending on the school.
Time commitment: 2-5 hours per week
Start date: September 15, 2021
End date: May 15, 2022

Background: Our Climate empowers and mobilizes young adults to pass bold, equitable, science-based climate policies to combat climate change.

Overview of Position: Our Climate’s Field Representative Program is a structured opportunity in which participants organize their peers, engage the media, collaborate with partner organizations and coalition members, and meet with elected officials to advance science-based and equitable climate policies. Field Representatives will coordinate with a cohort of Fellows to achieve campaign goals. Field Representatives will be provided with training and ongoing support from staff and Fellows.

Application deadline is August 20, with interviews beginning in mid-August.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Attending update calls with other Field Representatives and Fellows
Attend virtual events (meetings with elected officials, workshops, trainings, etc.)
Writing blog pieces, letters to the editor, and gaining media attention to build public support
Mobilize your peers to support the passage of climate policy  by sharing petitions, assisting with outreach for events, and social media

Qualifications:
No experience necessary. Youth ages 16-24 regardless of whether or not they are in school are encouraged to apply. The only requirement is that you should be excited to get involved to fight for our collective future!
