Dance for Kadamay
Virtual dance fundraiser for KADAMAY, a Filipino alliance of urban poor organizations primarily led by mothers and women on the frontlines of the fight for housing rights and social services.

Kadamay will use this money for continued mutual aid and to support their organizing efforts for housing, livelihood, and social services for the urban poor in the Philippines. Despite reports that aid has been delivered to families during quarantine, people have shared that this is not the case. There have been calls to the government for transparency with much of the aid money going unaccounted for and people continue to go hungry and are without jobs to return to as quarantine has been lifted.

Kadamay is able to best deliver this aid as organizers are from the communities that they are supporting. Moreover, this aid is an act of political solidarity and is not charity. These donations are supporting people who are seeking self-determination and a reality where all people are able to thrive, instead of just a few— these donations are in service of that vision.

This hour long dance class is for all levels. Come move and sweat through a variety of songs and styles lead by nicole gervacio. You'll experience a spectrum of choreography and guided movement - slow, smooth, fast, sharp, hard, soft - with space to integrate yourself, your style and what feels good for your body.

Suggested donation $10-$25 (larger or smaller donations are welcome, no one will be turned away for lack of funds). Donations can be made via Venmo to @GABRIELA-Oakland with the description: Kadamay.
