Programming Department
The Programming Department's first meeting will be September 22nd at 8:30am at Central Elementary (95 N 400 E. Pleasant Grove, UT). Anyone* interested in learning programming is invited to attend. Fill out this form if you plan on attending so we get an idea of who you are and how we can get you up to speed as soon as possible!

We will be teaching web development tools, skills, and techniques, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, the client-server model, server side programming with Node, web hosting, React, GraphQL, and much more!

The programming department will include a training portion during the meeting, take-home assignments, and workshop time. As a department member, you will be expected spend time outside of department meetings learning, working on projects, and teaching and helping others. Our primary focus will be learning and applying the tools necessary to develop the Thorium simulator controls platform.

The skills you will learn as part of the programming department have real-world application and are the same skills that professionals use to create the complex websites you see and use every day. Participating in the Programming Department will jump-start you into a rewarding career or a useful hobby.

* Due to privacy laws, participants must be at least 13 years old to participate in the Programming Department. Minors must obtain permission from their parent or guardian to participate.
