MAC & COSTI: Befriend A Newcomer Family
MAC would like to cordially invite you to become a "friend" to a newcomer family in the GTA. This program is based on a partnership with COSTI Immigrant services, the main agency in the GTA welcoming Syrian refugees among many other refugees from all over the world. The overall aim of this program is that of empowerment and social engagement to ease the settlement process of the refugees in their new home. There are no financial requirements due to the families by the volunteers. This is indeed a much needed and rewarding commitment of about 3 months with hopes of forming lasting friendships, well after the program is completed.

How does one become a friend?

1. Speak with interested friends and join us together for an interactive 2 hour training by MAC. Adults only please.
2. Complete a Vulnerable Sector Screening VSS by your local Police Services through MAC. Just bring $20 to the training.
3. You will be matched with a family that moves in your preferred area
4. Enjoy the experience of truly helping a friend in need and SHARE the positive experience!
