Nordic Awards 2019: Nomination Form
General guidelines for Nordic Awards 2019
- Companies can self-nominate, or be nominated by any of the organizing partners
- Only companies who are nominated can participate in the award categories
- Nominated companies should have a Nordic affiliation through ownership or ongoing partnership with a Nordic company
- Nominations are open until September 30, 2019
- The board of judges will select finalists and winners the first week of October
- NordCham Awards will be presented at the gala dinner at Fairmont Makati Hotel on October 23
Corporate Sustainability Company of the Year
Nordic-affiliated company with Philippine-targeted and based responsible business and sustainability activities in relation to the following themes and SDGs

A. Environment
- SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production
- SDG 13: Climate Action
- SDG 14: Life Below Water
- SDG 15: Life on Land

B. Human rights and working conditions
- SDG 1: No Poverty
- SDG 5: Gender Equality
- SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities

C. Anti-corruption measures and business ethics
- SDG 16: Peace, justice, and strong institutions
- SDG 17: Partnerships

The activities should go beyond charity and philanthropy, focusing on how the nominee makes their profit, rather than on how they spend it. The nominee looks beyond their bottom line to also consider the social and environmental implications of their activities. The activities implemented should be measurable and relevant to the core business of the nominee.

Selection criteria
- The judges rank the nominees individually in sub-categories A, B, C
- The results are tallied, and the company ranking first scores one point, company ranking second scores two points, and so on.
- The company with the lowest combined point total wins

- In case of a tie for the first place, the company with the largest growth in absolute number of employees wins

A.Degree of innovation: The company has used new technology or existing technology in new ways, or created a unique business model that leads to sustainable and innovative solutions addressing current challenges in the Philippines. SDGs 9, 8, 7, 6, 3, 2, 4, 1

B. Degree of sustainability: The company is paving the way for future sustainable growth through environmentally conscious solutions with lasting impact in their local communities while meeting local and global issues. SDGs 11, 7, 6, 2, 11, 12, 14, 15, 7

C. International potential: The company has established a future orientated innovative business concept which represents something new and significant in the market, which addresses global concerns through concrete tangible solutions. SDG 9

D. Likelihood of success: The company has proven itself through impactful and commercially viable solutions addressing concrete problems through frontier pushing activities that can yield further innovations while challenging existing actors in the market. SDG 9

Outstanding Employer of the Year
Nordic-affiliated company that implements or pattern policies in line with SDGs 3, 4, 5, 8 & 10:

A. Degree of gender equality: Commitment to gender equality, specifically women’s full and effective participation at the workplace. This also covers providing equal opportunities and empowering women to lead at all levels.
- Example: Company assures sufficient participation of women at least 30% in decision-making and governance at all levels and across all business areas.

B. Degree of health and well-being: Fosters a healthy work environment to all employees inside and outside of work. Company that helps achieve universal health coverage, including financial risk protection, access to quality essential health-care services and access to safe, effective, quality and affordable essential medicines and vaccines for all. This also covers maternal and reproductive health services and program.
- Example: Company supports access to child and dependent care by providing services, resources and information to both women and men. Provide healthy working environment for all employees e.g. initiatives for physical and metal health such as stress management

C. Degree of opportunities : Company ensures that all employees are given equal opportunities to acquire the knowledge and skills needed to promote organization and self-sustainable development.
- Example: Company invests on employees training and education e.g. to obtain new degree either masters or PHD, competition of certificate course, attend workshops in line with SDGs.
