Blackboard Summer Festival 2017
The CELT Blackboard Summer Festival at NUI Galway will take place between Wednesday 23rd and Tuesday 29th August 2017.

Use this form to register your interest in any of the workshops or demonstrations. Places will be allocated on a first come basis, so early registration is recommended. You will receive confirmation of a place by email.

All our workshops are based in the Arts Millennium Building with the exception of the Reading Lists workshop which is based in the Library Reading Rooms, and Hands-on with Online Learning which takes place online.

Lunchtime panel discussion with Jane Ennis & Imelda Byrne. Lunch included.
All Aboard: Badges, Digital Champions & Skills
In this workshop, we’ll cover the basics of badges: what they are, how they’re currently being used in Higher Education, and discuss best practice guidelines. We'll also look at the resources available under the All Aboard project for digital skills in Higher Education.

A short 1 hour workshop looking at some of the copyright issues with using (digital) artifacts in teaching.
Qwickly Attendance in Blackboard (Beginner)
This course tool enables you to take attendance that is automatically tracked in the Blackboard Grade Centre. 1.5 hour workshop, assumes basic existing knowledge of Blackboard. This session includes a panel discussion with Adrian Sylver (Shannon College), Maura Greally (Pharmacology), and Andrew Forde (Education Officer, SU) on the use of Qwickly Attendance.
