Key Teachers Bio:
1) Brian Manual Brian has been coaching debate for 17 years. He is widely recognized for unrivaled talent in creating and rebuilding programs from the bottom up. Brian is currently the Director of Policy Debate for the Stanford Debate Society at Stanford University, the Director of Debate for Edgemont Jr./Sr. High School in Scarsdale, NY, and a Tabroom.com support consultant for the National Speech and Debate Association. 2) Iain LampertIain is one of the foremost high school public speaking educators in America. He is a lifelong advocate for Speech and Debate; he has founded seven teams, coached winners of over 5,000 individual awards (in addition to over 700 individual championships, including multiple state and national champions), received the National Distinguished Service Award for his contributions to the activity, and currently serves as chairman of the West Los Angeles district of the National Speech and Debate Association.During his time as a high school competitor, Iain set a record for the number of Impromptu Speaking championships in a single season; during his college years, he won the American Mock Trial Association’s national championship twice.
Here’s what he and his team was able to produce across the last four years of national competitions.1. FOUR NATIONAL CHAMPIONS in 2017 and in 2018.2. FOUR NATIONAL RUNNERS-UP in 206 and in 2018.3. Hundreds of math students who have been trained at Areteem achieved the top honors and earned top awards in major national and international math competitions, including Gold Medalists in the International Math Olympiad (IMO), top winners at the USA Math Olympiad (USA(J)MO), top winners at the Zoom International Math League (ZIML), and top winners at the MathCounts National. Many Areteem Alumni have graduated from high school and gone on to enter their dream colleges such as MIT, Cal Tech, Harvard, Stanford, Yale, Princeton, U Penn, Harvey Mudd College, UC Berkeley, UCLA, etc. Dozens of them have graduated from college and are now playing an important role in the field of endeavor.
