Come and explore the world of art and culture by making your own art, and learning to curate it. Experience an interactive tour at a selected museum and visit an artist’s studio. Learn to take compelling photographs and embellish them using Photoshop. As a culminating activity, challenge yourself to produce an exhibition of your very own art. Family and friends will come to view your creative visual expressions. The Museum Studies Summer Intensive is certain to be an adventure to remember.

PROGRAM DETAILS - June 18th to June 29th - Fee: $500
This fun two-week summer intensive is designed to introduce and prepare incoming first year students for the Duke Ellington School of the Arts Museum Studies Departments’s training program. It is a rigorous program, taught by the Museum Studies Department’s faculty that will introduce the student to Ellington’s Museum Studies Curriculum. The program will conclude with a showcase of the student’s work.
Acknowledge that the Museum Studies Department reserves the right to dismiss, without program fee refund and at the expense of the participant, those who break this contract. *
Assumption of Risk, Waiver of Liability and Indemnification Agreement - Parental Declaration (Please read the following carefully)
I have read and understand the program description for which I am applying. We agree to release, waive, covenant not to sue, indemnify and hold harmless The Duke Ellington Museum Studies Department and their agents of any and all liability and responsibility of any nature for any loss or damage to property of personal injury, including death or illness, incurred while participating in Duke Ellington Museum Studies Department program. Any individual upon bringing legal action against Duke Ellington School of the Arts which results in a decision in favor of Duke Ellington School of the Arts will be responsible for all legal fees, court costs and out of pocket expenses of Duke Ellington School of the Arts, its board members and its employees. We understand that our failure to disclose fully any information regarding our child which results in an inappropriate placement in Duke Ellington School of the Arts program is cause for dismissal without refund. We also understand that The Museum Studies Department will dismiss without any refund and at parent(s)’ expense any student who disrupts the group or who violates the “Conditions for Participation.” We give permission to Duke Ellington School of the Arts to use photography of our child and to use his/her creative writing in promotional, documentary and other educational publications (print and electronic).
