2017 Holiday Parade of Lights - Volunteer Registration
The Chronicle Herald Holiday Parade of Lights presented by Eastlink is taking place on Saturday, November 18th, 2017 at 6:00pm in downtown Halifax! This year's parade will be led by the third annual Red Nose Run in support of the QEII Foundation, a fun run that follows the same route as the parade and begins immediately before the parade. We will need volunteers on the route for the run as well.

For 21 years we have relied on the help of our volunteers to help make the Holiday Parade of Lights a success. Please join us again on November 18th to help kick off the holiday season!

We are looking for volunteers in the following positions:

Pre-Parade Day:
- Signage

Morning of Parade:
- Parade Logistics Team (Must be able to lift heavy objects)

Parade:
- Volunteer Centre
- Marshalling Area Check-in Coordinators*
- Marshalling Area Line-up Coordinators
- Run Start Line Team
- Run Finish Line Team
- End of Parade Route Team
- Parade/Run Route Team Coordinators*
- Parade/Run Route Team Members

* = Positions marked with * require previous Parade volunteer experience


Volunteer Requirements:
- All volunteers must be 16 years of age or older by November 18, 2017
- All volunteer correspondence will be done via email, please check your email often!
- Volunteers will be required to attend one volunteer orientation session prior to the parade. The dates of these sessions to be announced.
- Volunteers must give 24 hours notice of shift cancellation except in cases of emergency.
- Each volunteer must register individually. If you would like to be placed with a friend, please mention this in the Notes section of the application below.
- If you would like to be stationed at a specific location along the parade route, please mention this in the Notes section of the application below.
