Heart of the Community Award 2020 Nomination Form
While 2020 has certainly been a different kind of year, The Center still believes that Community starts with all of us! Traditionally, The Heart of the Community Award is presented annually by The Center for Great Neighborhoods of Covington to recognize community leaders who have made significant contributions to their city, neighborhood, or school. Receiving this recognition is a way to highlight the accomplishments of the leader, express gratitude for his/her generous donation of time and talent, and inspire others to become involved in Covington.

Although we can't have an in-person annual event this year, we still want to honor Covington residents who've embodied being a good neighbor during this time. Starting the week of November 23rd, we will announce a weekly Heart of the Community Award Winner who will be honored with a box of locally prepared foods from our Chef Fellows as well as photos on social media. Rolling nominations for weekly award winners will be accepted through December 18th, 2020.

This year, nominees should be someone who has stood out as being neighborly during the pandemic. Past winners of the Heart of the Community Award have exhibited some or all of the following characteristics:

♦ Demonstrates a strong commitment to Covington
♦ Clearly shows concern for ALL members of the community regardless of income, race, etc
♦ Successful in accomplishing projects and responsibilities
♦ Has a positive vision for the community
♦ Demonstrates the ability and initiative to bring people together to facilitate positive change
