CBYF Transfer Portal
Welcome to Columbia Basin Youth Football - Washington state's largest youth football league! This portal is for use by athlete's requesting a transfer outside of an athlete's boundary program. Boundary programs are determined by address and high school boundaries.

Please read through this page in its entirety before entering the portal. Only submit one request per family household. Answer all questions. Incomplete requests will be returned.

TRANSFER OPTIONS:
There are two transfer options available to athletes:
  • Single Season Waiver: single season waivers must be used for athletes whose boundary high school lacks a CBYF charter or whose charter does not have a grade level squad available. Waivers are good for one (1) season (spring or fall). Athletes will be removed from the team roster upon conclusion of the season.
  • Full Transfer Waiver: full transfer waivers must be used for all other reasons. Full transfers are permanent once approved and do not need to be renewed.

QUALIFYING CIRCUMSTANCES:
CBYF believes it is in the best interest of all stakeholders for athletes to participate in the Junior program connected to the athlete's boundary high school as determined by address. CBYF also understands that participation in the athlete’s boundary Junior Charter program may create undue hardship. Transfers are not guaranteed and are typically only considered for the following circumstances
  • Lack of CBYF charter program for the boundary high school
  • Lack of grade level squad in the boundary charter
  • Childcare (K-5 athletes only)
  • Transportation needs
  • Athlete's Enrolled School/School District
  • Sibling Grandfather Request
  • Return Player Grandfather Request
Note that transfers are not intended to be used based on a desire to play with friends, for a specific coach, or on a team perceived as "better".

Proof of hardship qualification may be required  at the sole discretion of the releasing/receiving charter and/or CBYF board of directors. Failure to provide any requested proof may result in denial of request or termination of any previously received approval.

PROCESS AND TIMELINE:
CBYF will make every attempt to process transfer requests as quickly as possible. Please allow up to 5 business days for final approval/denial. Transfer requests will move through the following process:
  1. Transfer Initiation: Prior to submitting a transfer request, the parent/guardian must create a TeamSideline athlete account for the requested program. All requests must be initiated through the Transfer Portal by the parent/guardian of the athlete requesting transfer. Transfer requests must be complete at the time of submission. Incomplete requests will be returned.
  2. Review by Transfer Coordinator: The Transfer Coordinator will review the request to ensure completion of all required information and existence of an athlete account for the receiving program. Once reviewed, the request will be routed to the releasing program General Manager for approval. Incomplete requests will be returned.
  3. Review by Releasing Program: Once a request has been verified as complete and valid, it will be sent to the President of the releasing program for approval. In the event there is not a charter program for the boundary high school, the request will be sent to the General Manager of the boundary division.
  4. Review by Receiving Program: Once approved by the releasing charter program, the request will be sent to the President of the receiving program for approval.
  5. Athlete Account Updated: Once all approvals have been received, the athlete's TeamSideline account will be updated to allow registration in the receiving charter program. An email will be sent notifying the parent/guardian that registration is available for the athlete.
Initiating a request in the Transfer Portal does not guarantee placement on the requested team. Approval or denial of a request is at the sole discretion of the releasing/receiving Presidents according to CBYF rules and bylaws and may not be overturned or appealed.
