World Festival 2019 Food Vendors
World Festival 2019 will take place on Saturday 20th April at Mayo High School, Rochester, MN from 10 am to 3 pm.
Food sales will start at 11 a.m. Food preparation hours at Mayo HS are Friday, April 19th from 4-7 p.m. and Saturday morning starting at 8 a.m. If you operate a restaurant, food may be prepared there; otherwise, it must be prepared at the high school. You are allowed to bring your own cooking utensils (pots, pans, etc.).
There are a limited number of hot wells available for use. If you need to use a deep fat fryer, contact us!!! (Very important) Vendors are only allowed to sell for tickets, which will cost $0.50 each, and vendors will receive 80% (RIA receives 20%) for each ticket turned back in to the RIA. Each plate is intended to be a "tasting plate" not a whole meal, and portion size and ticket price should reflect this.
There will be no admission fee to get into World Festival 2019. Please also note that kitchen space is limited, so keep cooking and serving numbers to a minimum!

By signing this form, you are stating that , if selected, you intend, to be present at Mayo High School on Saturday, April 20th 2019 for the purpose of selling food at the 2019 World Festival. You agree to abide by all rules and regulations set by the Rochester International Association, Mayo High School, and Independent School District 535.
General: The World Festival, presented by the Rochester International Association (“World Festival”) will take place on at a date and location decided by the Board of the Rochester International Association, in Rochester, MN. The selected location will have a designated area (“kitchen”) for food vendors (“vendor”) to sell their products during the the World Festival.
Participation: Vendor will receive confirmation of their accepted application and food items that will be allowable for sale. Vendors are encouraged to prepare unique international festival fare, as no duplication of food items will be allowed. Vendor’s fare will be selected on a first come, first served basis by March 1. The location of Vendor’s Space will be at the sole discretion of the Festival committee.
Hours of Operation: The World Festival food sales will operate on Saturday only between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. or until the vendor runs out of food. All vendors are required to be ready to conduct business by 11 a.m. The ticket sales booth will be open until approximately 2:30 p.m.
Acceptable Payment for Products sold & Payment of Vendor for Products: Vendor hereby agrees to only accept Festival Tickets (“tickets”) as payment for the purchase of its product(s). Tickets will be sold by the Rochester International Association (“RIA”) at a cost of $0.50 per ticket. After ticket sales are closed for the day, vendors may still not accept cash for food. Vendor will at its sole discretion, determine how many tickets it will collect for each food item that it sells. At the conclusion of the World Festival, vendor shall submit all collected tickets to the RIA. The RIA will send a check for an amount equal to the full face value of all tickets presented for redemption, less twenty percent (20%). Said 20% shall be retained by the RIA as a charge for vendor to have conducted business at the World Festival.
Vendor Equipment: Equipment is available for vendor use at Mayo High School. Vendor is also free to bring their own equipment for use as well. If there is a special request for a particular type of equipment, the RIA will see if such equipment is available. If not, the vendor will need to provide that equipment themselves. There is no deep fryer for fried foods available at the kitchen, though the vendor is welcome to bring their own if they need one.
Banners & Signage: Vendors are encouraged to bring their own signs/banners for their individual menu items and ticket prices to ensure that all information is correct at the time of the World Festival. Signage should be no larger than a legal size sheet of paper. Multiple signs are permitted. In addition, the RIA will consolidate the menu at the location of food ticket sales and/or provide full menu options on paper made available at the festival.
Setup/Teardown: Vendors will be allowed access to the kitchen at selected location at an agreed time prior to the main World Festival even. for advanced prep work in their cooking. Access to the kitchen will also be granted from approximately 8:00 a.m. on the day of the World Festival. Vendors are responsible for cleaning up their own space at the close of the￼￼￼￼￼ World Festival. If not, a fee will be deducted from your total sale. The amount is dependent on how much work to be done.
Permits/Public Health & Sanitation: Permits are not required to participate as a vendor at the World Festival. However, no food items that have been prepared at home will be allowed for sale. If you operate a restaurant or catering business and have the appropriate licenses and permits, you can prepare food at your place of business and transfer the food to your space at the World Festival. If that does not apply to you, all food must be prepared in the kitchen at Mayo High School. All meat and food products must be stored in accordance with accepted health regulations and local ordinances.
If you have any questions, please contact the RIA food representative. Do not call the school directly as we have to pay for any additional requests. Therefore, your requests have to be approved by the Rochester International Association first.
