Hawai'i Green Collar Institute Spring 2109 Application
Aloha! This is an application for participation in the Hawai'i Green Collar Institute (HGCI) program coordinated by the Mālama Learning Center during the DOE Spring break, March 18-22, 2019 for Leeward O'ahu high school students in grades 10-12 particularly from the Kapolei and 'Ewa regions. This five-day session will focus on, Mālama 'Āina - Perspectives Mauka to Makai with the goal of exposing local students to the breadth of "green" careers in Hawai'i through hands-on site visits that build capacity and interest in environmental conservation. There will be an overnighter at Camp Pālehua, field trips, hands-on activities, and talk story sessions with people in this profession. Everyday will be filled with fun activities and memorable learning experiences, don’t miss your chance to be a part of this engaging program! We will accept qualified applications as we get them so best to apply early.

Please complete this application form using your own words and to the best of your ability by February 15, 2019. We will continue to recruit until program is filled. You will be notified by February 22 on whether or not you're selected for this program. There will be a non-refundable $25 program fee due to Mālama Learning Center after notification of acceptance into this program to reserve your spot. An overnighter at Camp Pālehua in Makakilo will take place on 3/19-3/20. A detailed itinerary and instructions for the week will be sent to you upon notification of your acceptance into this program.
