Make-a-Thon Registration Form

Similar to the concept of a hackathon, a make-a-thon challenges students to create a physical object in 24 hours. Students in the Boston College Make-a-thon will be given a choice of 4 tracks to compete in: Sustainability, Entrepreneurship, Developmental Technologies (DevTech), and Art. Prizes will be awarded to the winners of each track, ranging from Smart Gardens to Speakers.

Dates/Time: Saturday, April 15 (10AM) - Sunday, April 16 (3pm)

Track Descriptions:

  • Sustainability: Make a project that addresses one of the many environmental challenges that face our planet.
  • Entrepreneurship: Make a project that has the potential to become a product in the future.
  • DevTech: Make a project that engages children and maximizes their potential for learning.
  • Art: Make art with the theme of Flora and Fauna

Other Details:

  • Boston College undergraduate students and graduate students can participate
  • Food and drinks will be provided
  • During the Making Period (11am (4/15) - 11am (4/16), Students are free to leave and return to the event space as they choose
  • Students may bring their own tools and supplies provided that they follow Hatchery rules (i.e Students are not allowed to laser cut self-provided materials, etc.)
  • Students will only be allowed to use Hatchery tools that they have been trained on through the official training process
  • Students may form teams of up to 3
  • Students may submit projects to multiple tracks
