How it works: CSA (Community Shared Agriculture) members pay up front for a share of the garden harvest as it comes in over the whole season, starting with lots of leafy greens in June, until the winter squash are ready in September, with plenty of variety in between. Your farmers, Amanda and Erica, will work hard to tend the garden all season long, no matter what the weather. By paying up front, you'll also share in some of the risk with us. If some crops suffer from factors out of our control, you'll see fewer of those in your box. But if the summer turns out to be a particularly good one for other crops, you'll share in that abundance. Each week, we'll share stories from the farm and recipe ideas with you on how to use the vegetables that might be new to you.
Deliveries will begin in mid-June and run until mid-September. Weekly shares will run 15 weeks and biweekly shares will run 7 weeks. Each CSA box will have enough for a household of 2 - 4 people. We will be growing basil, beans, beets, broccoli, brussel sprouts, cabbage, cantaloupe, carrots, cauliflower, chard, cilantro, cucumbers, dill, eggplant, flowers, garlic, kale, kohlrabi, lettuce, onions, pac choi, parsley, peas, peppers, popcorn, potatoes, pumpkins, radish, rutabaga, sorrel, spinach, squash, thyme, tomatoes, and zucchini.
Building on last year's Fall Cornucopia option, there will be an opportunity again this year to extend your fresh, local eating into the fall season. Watch for more information on what this year's offering will look like in this regard in the months ahead.
