Thank you for your interest in ATX Scioly. We are an outreach organization dedicated to STEM enrichment of 6th-12th grade students across Texas and the nation via the Science Olympiad competition. Specifically, our undergraduate-led group hosts and organizes two annual tournaments that bring hundreds of middle and high school students to UT. We also conduct Coaches Clinics, team-specific mentoring, and resource distribution to support Science Olympiad programs with the tools they need to succeed. We invite you to join us in hosting these competitions/outreach events and making them more accessible to communities that may not traditionally participate in them!
Our organization has five different committees: Outreach, Tournament, Communications, Operations, and Financial. It consists of members who are in:
- Leadership roles (president and committee directors)
- Coordinator roles (the members of each committee who are in charge of specific tasks)
- Neither leadership nor coordinator roles (these members are usually in the process of familiarizing themselves with us by working with multiple coordinators, after which some apply for coordinator roles)
You can explore available coordinator roles and positions here:
In order to officially participate in our organization and plan/execute the above activities, you must fill out this application to become a member in good standing. This application also gives you the opportunity to apply to be a coordinator role if you are interested, but this is not required! If you want to take some time to join as only a member and get familiarized with our organization, there will be another application for coordinator roles in the Fall which you can fill out then.
Our meetings are held at 7 pm every Thursday. All members are given the ability to vote on constitutional amendments and in elections, the opportunity to move up into coordinator/leadership roles, and the power to help guide the vision of our organization. They are also asked to attend two outreach events and miss only up to 3 meetings per semester, with exceptions for extenuating circumstances such as exams.
With that being said, if you have any other questions about the organization, please direct them to
! We are happy to answer any that you might have.
