At LACS we admit students at the beginning of each semester as there are openings. Students are selected by lottery from our pool of applicants with an effort to balance the total number of students in each grade, and to have proportionate enrollment from each of the Ithaca City School District (ICSD) elementary schools and other area educational programs. LACS does accept applications from students attending schools outside of the district, however, in order to attend this school, all students must establish residency within the ICSD*.

To apply to LACS, please complete and return this application. In addition, we recommend attending one of our informational evening meetings or having an individual conference with a school counselor (or principal). It may also be useful for the student to visit LACS in session – our school counselors arrange such visits.

6th Grade applicants:  Only applications received by April 21 will be part of the first drawing for the following school year.

All applicants:  If you do not receive an invitation to attend LACS by the end of the first semester of the school year for which you applied, please submit a new application if you would like your to be included in the enrollment lottery for the following school year.  You must reapply each academic year to remain active in the lottery pool.
