Kubernetes v1.28 Release Team Shadow Application
Thank you for applying to be a shadow on the Kubernetes v1.28 Release Team!

This questionnaire is to learn a little bit more about you, your journey with Kubernetes, your understanding of the Release Team processes and procedures, as well as to determine if you're a good fit for the current Release Team.

***Please note you are expected to be inexperienced in some areas, the shadow program is an apprenticeship.***

Participation in the Release Team can include somewhat open-ended expectations. We never know what blocking/critical issue may come up at what point during the release cycle. On a rare occasion, this may mean we each make some personal sacrifice to check in on a status or show up at a meeting to give or receive information. The team of leads and shadows must be flexible and pragmatic in addressing these. The Release Team Lead will endeavor to make sure any such inconveniences do not unfairly hit individuals or specific time zones. To learn more please read the doc on shadows here: https://git.k8s.io/sig-release/release-team/shadows.md.

While the release calendar has not yet been finalised, the release is planned to start on Monday 15th May. The tentative release date for Kubernetes v1.28 is Thursday 15th August. Please keep these dates in mind when you consider your availability and the time commitments. These dates are currently approximate and subject to change.

Before proceeding further, you must browse and read the relevant Role Handbooks: https://git.k8s.io/sig-release/release-team/role-handbooks

Your detailed answers will be shared with the Release Team leads, SIG Release leads, and specific members of SIG ContribEx. If you need your data removed from this form, contact the Release Lead (Grace Nguyen) or the Emeritus Adviser (Leonard Pahlke).

The Release Team strives to continually improve the shadow program, increase diversity and to be transparent. To support this, we would like to make a report publicly available using anonymized applicants' answers. You have the option to opt-out of this report below.

This form will close on Tuesday 2nd May 2023. We will review applications as they are submitted and will notify applicants no later than end of day Tuesday 9th May 2023.

Note: Applicants for the enhancements team will be selected first, due to the front loaded nature of the role.
