Additional Information About YOU *
Please tell us a little about yourself:
  • Describe the level of your outdoor experience.
  • Please list the most recent hikes you have been on and/or describe how you spend time in the outdoors.
  • Are you comfortable spending time ALONE out in the woods for several hours at a time? *We will be placing you in your hiding spot for the first several sessions.
  • Do you have, or are able to obtain, gear to keep you protected in our varied Pacific Northwest weather?
  • Do you have access to a vehicle with four-wheel-drive?
Why are you interested in becoming a Volunteer Guest Hider? *
Time Commitment *
Can you commit to spending an entire day with us? Or would you only be able to spend half a day hiding? Generally our workouts are all day and are between the hours of 8:00am and 4:00pm.  We often train in Pierce, Thurston, King, Kitsap, and Mason Counties.

From January to October GSSD trains on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of the month. November and December training days are on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays due to the holidays.

*Some trainings only go until 2-3pm, others around 4pm, but you may not get home until later in the day so you should be prepared to include drive time in your planning.

Next Steps
Someone from the team will reach out to you at the time when we are getting ready to schedule an Orientation Meeting where we will go over how things work, safety, gear, etc.  We wait until we have a few interested parties before scheduling a session.

We cannot guarantee that we will be able to accommodate everyone or get back to you within a certain time-frame, so if you have volunteer hour requirements, you may need to look elsewhere to complete those hours.
