CEU Team

Responsible for:

Working with Certification Maintenance Program (CMP) Coordinators and learn the Continuing Education Units (CEU) process!

Assist with submitting paperwork for CEU approval.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT Committee

Responsible for:

Lead the initiative to look for and provide relevant professional development to enhance the skills of professional interpreters including, but not limited to, workshops, conferences, and other forms of alternative professional development deemed worthy of CEUs.

MEMBERSHIP Committee

Responsible for:

Maintaining the membership database.

Recruit new NAOBI-DC members.

Conduct organizational marketing.

Process new and renewal applications for approval. 

Maintain and distribute membership information.

Attend meetings bi-monthly with Membership Chair.

Promote membership in the Chapter.

BYLAWS Committee

Responsible for: 

Periodic revision, maintenance and distribution of the NAOBI-DC by-laws.

Collect and count voting ballots.

Hear all appeals and grievances related to the by-laws as brought forth by the membership.

Clarify all conflicts in the bylaws.

Develop and maintain the election calendar.

Conduct elections of officers and committee chairperson

Present all proposed amendments and standing rules at the chapter meeting, and verify with the chapter secretary, the changes adopted and the edit to the bylaws and standing rules as amended.

Meet Bi-monthly with Chair and report to the Board

PUBLICATIONS Committee

Responsible for:

Create, research, edit, produce and distribute the NAOBI-DC newsletter.

Manage promotional fliers otherwise not handled by the Professional Development Committee, Board, or Conference Committee.

Seek articles, information and advertising for the NAOBI-DC newsletter.

Assist in finalizing a draft of newsletter with Publications Chair for approval before production and distribution.

Manage the social media platform and provide social media support for programs.

Managing the website.

Work closely with Secretary.
