Please carefully read through the following terms of service before filling out the form.
Private Commissions Terms of Service
In this following document, the commissioner will hereafter be referred to as the client and Shazleen Khan as the artist. Please carefully read through the details of this document and contact the artist via the following email address for any queries:
1.COMMISSION APPLICATION AND SPECIFICATIONS
The client will fill out the commission form to the best of their ability. Upon the acceptance of the commission, the artist will contact the client via the email provided to confirm the commission and provide payment details (see section : ), and ask for any additional details that may be necessary. The client can then pass on any additional information that may be needed.
As these are quick turn around commissions, please provide the most reference possible initially to allow for a smooth work process. Commissions are less likely to be accepted if clear direction is not initially given. The artist will show one image of the final, where the client can request any minor changes free of charge. Minor changes in this case can include: colour correction, adjustments to linework when the character is depicted with incorrect features, slight changes in expression if necessary. Any extensive changes (including but not limited to complete changes of posing) can incur further fees. (See section: )
If your commission application is not accepted, you will be put on a waiting list and contacted later when further commission slots open up. Your information will only be retained for this purpose. It is up to the artist’s discretion as to how many and which commissions they choose to take on.
2. SCHEDULE
The commissions will be done on a monthly basis. Artwork will be delivered within 30 days of receiving payment. The Artist will do their best to communicate any lateness in delivery.
3. USAGE
The commission is for private use only.
The client may: post the image on their personal social media accounts; use the artwork as their personal display picture on any personal account; use the image to represent themself or their character in a private, non monetised table top rpg campaign; print out the artwork on their home printer to frame, use for scrapbooking or any other relevant purpose; print single editions from a print on demand service, such as a local printer, to have the image framed if the client so wishes.
The client may not use the image for any and all commercial purposes; if the client would like to commission a piece for commercial use, the client must make a separate enquiry via the artists’s website (see here:
www.shazleenkhan.com )
As such the client is forbidden from using the commissioned image from commercial purposes, including but not limited to; using the artwork to represent themselves, their work, or any associated businesses on any public commercial ventures, such as public business accounts, signage, digital or physical graphics; using the artwork to promote the clients works or businesses, for example commissioning artwork from the client’s debut novel and then posting the commissioned artwork on public social media platforms with a link to pre-orders in the post description or following comment chain; printing physical copies of the artwork in any form; distributing any digital or physical edition of the artwork in any form; reselling the artwork as part of an adoptable trade.
If the client wishes to either later license the work for commercial purposes or wishes to commission work for independent commercial purposes initially, please contact the artist directly through either twitter, DM or email.
Additionally the client may not use the artwork for anything relating to cryptocurrency or NFTs. This supersedes all previous clauses covering personal / private usage. Clients who engage with cryptocurrency and NFT trading are discouraged from engaging with this commission form and encouraged to find alternative artists to work with.
4. PAYMENT AND KILL FEE
The client must pay the full price of the commission up front via paypal.
If there is extensive reworking asked for by the client, the client may incur additional costs at the artist’s discretion.
If for any reason the artwork is unsatisfactory to the pont the client rejects the work wholly, the client is entitled to a 50% refund. This must be agreed upon at a reasonable time after artwork delivery, at the artist’s discretion.
