JPYC and the JPYC Foundation wish to promote mutual respect among its sailors, instructors, parents, members and guests through the use of appropriate language, attitude and physical behavior.
All participants in the JPYC Foundation Junior Sailing Program are expected at all times to:
Remember safety is the program's top priority. All safety procedures given by instructors and responsible adults must be followed. Avoid unsafe behavior.
Always wear a life jacket on the boat, on the dock or near the water and at all other times as instructed.
To be familiar and comply with the club rules, program rules and the fundamental rules of sportsmanship and fair play as described in the US Sailing's Rules of Sailing.
Follow the fundamental rules of fair sailing and display good sportsmanship on the water and on land at all times.
Demonstrate mutual respect for all sailors, instructors, parents, members and guests.
Refrain from using foul/inappropriate language at all times.
Exhibit respect for all equipment and property, regardless of ownership.
Demonstrate zero tolerance for bullying, hazing, intimidating or harassing behavior.
Demonstrate zero tolerance for verbal and/or physical threats and/or physical abuse.
Demonstrate zero tolerance for use of alcohol, tobacco and non-prescribed drugs.
Demonstrate zero tolerance for any weapons or the use of sharp instruments to threaten or hurt others.
Be an ambassador of JPYC and the JPYC Foundation while attending regattas and related events.
