Girls Basketball Camp Registration 2019
July 10-13, 2019. 5th - 8th grade 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM *drop off available at 7:30 AM*, 9th - 12th grade 1:00-5:00 PM.

REGISTRATION - Camp is open to girls entering grades 5-12. Please note the hours listed for each session. COST- $50. WHAT TO BRING - Basketball shoes, shorts, t-shirt, and a Great Attitude! LOCATION - Iowa Mennonite School, 1421 540th Street SW, Kalona, Iowa

Camp Features - Offensive fundamentals: shooting form, passing, ball-handling, and individual skills. Defensive fundamentals: proper stance and footwork, on ball and help-side positioning, rebounding, and communication. Team fundamentals: Players will be divided into teams to help implement the individual skills learned into a team setting. The Saturday session will feature key fundamental drills from the week as well as round-robin games that parents are welcome to attend. We will also incorporate team building activities to emphasize the importance of healthy dynamics.

Camp Director, Kari Heusinkveld, is a graduate of Bethany Christian Schools (Indiana) and played collegiately at Hesston College and Goshen College. At Bethany, Heusinkveld became the 3rd player to reach the 1,000 point milestone and was inducted into the Elkhart County Sports Hall of Fame in 2014. At Hesston she earned NJCAA DII Region VII First Team All-Region honors and at Goshen she served as team captain and garnished MVP awards. Heusinkveld is entering her fifth season as the head coach of the IMS girls program. During the 2018-19 season, the team broke through with double digits in the win column and saw senior standout guard, Suzanna Yoder break multiple records and garnish All-State honors. This year, Heusinkveld was awarded the E. Wayne Cooley “You Can” Award by the Iowa Girls Coaches Association for building up the IMS varsity girls basketball program.

Tanna Boshart is a graduate of IMS and played collegiately at Hesston College. Boshart was a four-year varsity letter winner at IMS and ranks in the top five in scoring, steals and rebounds. Boshart is entering her tenth season with the IMS girls program.

Elizabeth Miller is a graduate of IMS and played collegiately at Hesston College and Bluffton College. Miller was a four-year varsity letter winner at IMS and ranks 2nd in field-goal percentage in a season. Miller is entering her seventh season with the IMS girls program and brings a great understanding of the game and enthusiasm.

Other Staff
Both current and former varsity players will be on staff during camp sessions, most notably recent graduate Suzanna Yoder. Yoder garnished All-State honors this past season as well as Co-Conference Player of the Year.
