Do you know of someone who does outstanding academic advising? Nominate them for an advising award.

Nominees must be OHAAA members for a minimum of 1 year. All award winners will receive a complimentary 1 year membership to OHAAA!

Please complete this form to submit a nomination for a OHAAA Award. Nominations are due no later June 1, 2019. Individuals receiving an award will be notified prior to the Annual Conference and honored at the annual Conference on July 8, 2019. Nominations must contain adequate factual or descriptive material for the Selection Committee to evaluate the nomination.

About the Awards
PACESETTER AWARD
This award recognizes Executive Officers, Provosts, Advising Administrators and Academic or Student Affairs Officers (i.e., Vice Provosts, Vice Presidents, Deans, etc.) who exemplify a commitment to academic advising and are true advocates for advising, students, and advisors across the institution. Individuals nominated should be an advocate for advising, students, and advisors at the upper administration level.

OUTSTANDING ADVISING ADMINISTRATOR AWARD
This award is for any individual serving as an advising administrator. Individuals nominated should be an advocate for advising, students, and advisors. Individuals should encourage the growth of academic advising as a profession through contributions to their institution, state, regional, and/or national presentations, publications, or service.

OUTSTANDING NEW ADVISOR AWARD
This award is for any individual serving as an academic advisor or faculty academic advisor for three (3) or fewer years, and is employed by a regionally accredited post-secondary institution may be nominated. Three years or fewer is calculated from the nominee's start date in an advising position. Only one nominee per category per institution will be considered.

ADVISING EXCELLENCE AWARD
Any individual serving as an academic advisor or faculty academic advisor for more than three (3) years, and is employed by a regionally accredited post-secondary institution may be nominated. Three years is calculated from the nominee's start date in an advising position. Only one nominee per category per institution will be considered.

Criteria for Awards
* Strong interpersonal skills
* Availability to advisees, faculty, or staff
* Frequency of contact with advisees
* Appropriate referral activity
* Use and dissemination of appropriate information sources
* Caring, helpful attitude toward advisees, faculty, and staff
* Participation in and support of intrusive advising to build strong relationships with advisees
* Monitoring of student progress toward academic and career goals
* Mastery of institutional regulations, policies, and procedures
* Ability to engage in, promote, and support developmental advising
* Evidence of working in an academic advising program that supports NACADA's Core Values.
* Evidence of working in an advising program that reflects
the standards of good practice in the CAS Standards and Guidelines for Academic Advising.
* Participation in and support of advisor development programs
* Perception by colleagues of nominee's advising skills
* Institutional recognition of nominee for outstanding advising
