Intern Application for the Office of ASUC Senator Amir Wright
Thank you for your interest in working as an intern in the Office of ASUC Senator Amir Wright.

Senator Wright was elected to represent the Black/Afrikan community here at UC Berkeley. By acknowledging his own history, the history of this university, and the history of this nation, Amir and this office will aim to support this community and many others that are left to suffer in the margins by working on issues relating to UCPD, financial aid, and housing security. In this way, UC Berkeley students can feel supported, stress-free, and heard. The office will be organized into 4 departments with associates and interns respectively for each.

As an intern, you will be working as a sub-associate within the office and will be reporting to one of four directors. Your main role will be filling in where needed. You will be receiving hands-on experience with a variety of policy areas, such as the ones this office chooses to focus on, and more. Thus, there will be plenty of things for you to work on throughout the semester, so be ready and come prepared with your passion for change and helping others.

In addition to the tasks assigned in this office, interns are required to sign up for a mandatory DeCal. It's offered on two days: Mondays from 5:30PM-7:00PM and Tuesdays from 6:00PM-7:30PM.

There are weekly staff meetings that take place every Monday from 4-5 PM.

Intern positions are on a rolling basis. Emails offering positions (via skype or in-person) will be sent out soon after the application is submitted and received.

Once again, thank you for your time and interest.
