The Aya Ueki International Student Scholarship Application

Deadline: Monday, April 3, 2017 (No late applications will be accepted)

This Scholarship is for the 2017 -18 school year. (Fall and Spring Semesters)and will be applied to the student's account.

The scholarship committee will review the scholarship application and essay in April and decisions will be made by May 1st. The scholarship is for one academic year only and covers tuition costs only.

Awarded amounts are between $500-$2,000

    Requirements for Consideration

    1. Student must be an international student at Capital University (defined as a student on non-immigrant status, and not currently a U.S. permanent resident, U.S. Citizen, political asylee, or refugee) 2. Student must have completed at least one semester at Capital University. 3.GPA requirements - Graduate Students 3.0, ESL & Undergraduate 2.0 4. Has demonstrated campus involvement (through student organizations, leadership, and participation in university events) 5. One reference form completed by a Capital University faculty member, teacher or university administrator (other than the Director of International Education, Jennifer Adams)

    Essay Requirement

    It is recommended that you prepare the paper and then copy and past it into this application. Include in the essay your goals for studying at Capital University and your participation in university life. Participation includes: Campus Activities & Student Organization involvement Department presentations or research studies that have involved presenting at a conference (list the name of the conference and the year you presented) Any leadership roles you have had. Include your involvement and also how you have contributed to the activities on-campus, the name of the organization and the amount of time you have served in this leadership role. Any off-campus service or volunteer activities you have been involved in since coming to Capital University (include name of activity and time of service)
