Thank you for participating in this research effort to identify and understand asphalt pavement technologies that may be ripe for application in airfield pavements. This survey aims to gather expert insights on advanced asphalt pavement technologies that have been researched, piloted, or implemented on asphalt airfield pavements in recent years. These technologies can include innovations in asphalt materials and modifiers, mix design, specifications, structural design, quality assurance and control, construction methods, production and placement, data-driven tools (including AI and BIM), embedded sensors, procurement and contracting approaches, workforce-enabling technologies, and other novel practices.
The survey will ask you to name the technology, indicate its maturity, and rank its impact, feasibility, benefits, and challenges. The information collected will contribute to a robust methodology to prioritize technologies based on their readiness levels, impact, and feasibility for short-term and long-term implementation. Your input will help ensure the methodology reflects both expert knowledge and contextual sensitivity.
This survey will take approximately 10-15 minutes to complete. All responses will be kept confidential and used solely for research purposes.
