ONLINE SELF-TAPE WORKSHOP
Dates & Schedule:
Mar to May, Mondays kl. 17:00 - 20:00
2 personal sessions plus multiple group classes
Exact dates flexible according to participants’ availability
Location/Format: VIRTUAL (Zoom / Google Meets)
Cost: 1.500 kr (3.000 as package w/Auditioning In the Room or Scene Study Master Class)
Registration deposit of 500 kr. required
Description: These days, most opportunities in TV, film, commercials or theater begin by submitting a recorded audition “tape,” which the actor must film on their own. Unfortunately, good actors are often disqualified because of bad recordings. In this workshop, we’ll focus on winning techniques for successful video auditions, covering both the technical “do’s and don'ts,” as well as simple ways of adjusting your acting craft to better come alive on camera.
Participants can provide their own material or be assigned a scene by the instructor. Sessions will be spent reviewing the actors’ recordings (which they submit prior to each meeting) and then re-rehearsing the pieces live online. The second session can be used to revisit previous material or prepare a different self-taped scene. By design, the virtual format of this course allows for the best possible simulation of self-tape conditions, and for the instructor to help make adjustments to the actor’s technical set up in real time.

SCENE STUDY MASTER CLASS
Dates & Schedule:
April to May, Thursdays kl. 17:00 - 20:00
7 class mtgs. total
Exact dates TBD (bestäms senare)
Location/Format: Danscentrum Syd, Malmö (In-Person)
Cost: 2.000 kr (3.000 as package w/ Self Tape Workshop)
Registration deposit of 500 kr.
Description: This course is a rigorous “refresher” on the fundamentals of good acting: talking and listening with your whole being, and fighting hard for what your character wants. Following a professional model, the course relies upon the actors’ own methods of text work and preparation, so that the emphasis in the studio can be placed on putting ideas into action (i.e. “working on our feet”), just as would be the case in rehearsals for a full stage production.
Participants will meet weekly as a class to present and rehearse their two and three-person scenes for each other, under the guidance of the instructor. Each scene group will have the opportunity to share their work at least twice over the period of the course, with the expectation that they will rehearse independently between meetings. Sessions begin with a rigorous warm-up to help the actors in their independent practice and increase physical/vocal awareness. Classes end with a period of feedback and reflection. The first meeting will consist of a scene selection day, in which pairings are assigned and texts are chosen from a preselected library of material, spanning early “modern” works to contemporary theatrical texts (i.e. Chekhov and Ibsen to Norén, Churchill, Kushner, etc).
