All applicants to the UAB Music Technology degree program as majors or minors should complete and submit a position paper prior to being considered. The position paper, audition (including theory placement exam score), resume, and any supporting materials, such as recordings, scores, and videos, will be used to determine final acceptance into the program.

Please provide a statement about your career and/or educational aspirations in the area of music technology. In other words, why do you wish to become a music tech major and, perhaps, how do you plan to incorporate this course of study into your future educational and/or career goals?

Please provide any information detailing your musical, technological, and academic experiences. This can be experience in high-school, church or other bands, choirs, etc. Please expand upon any experiences that may appear listed on your resume submitted with your application. *

Please detail any experiences in the area of music technology where a production has been recorded, even if just for yourself. We’d also benefit from having an opportunity to review samples of your work. This may be samples of projects you've completed on any of the common music tech software platforms for arranging, scoring, sequencing, editing, etc. *
