Application - Volunteers Rotterdam Photo 2025
Rotterdam Photo is an annual photo fair with a festival flair. The event celebrates the spectrum of contemporary photography in all its diversity.

The event yearly attracts around 10.000 visitors, among whom art lovers, collectors, gallerists, as well as international art press professionals from different parts of the globe. Inspired by the history of Rotterdam as a port city, the festival provides the selected photographers with exhibition space in repurposed shipping containers, as well as the public space of Rotterdam city to bring photography outside the 'white cube' tradition.

In addition to the exhibitions, Rotterdam Photo organizes talks, workshops, and a fringe program with music and digital installations throughout the city.

How to become a volunteer?
You can apply to our volunteer program by filling in the online registration form. As soon as the festival gets closer, we will contact you to schedule a short orientation call together.

Each volunteer at Rotterdam Photo will be able to join one or both of our teams. Currently, we are looking for people to help us with various tasks:

• Audience-related roles

Our festival yearly attracts around 10.000 visitors, and we would like them all to enjoy the festival's atmosphere. Your activities may include various and diverse tasks. Among them are checking tickets, helping as a host at festival events. We are looking for flexible, patient enthusiasts with a friendly attitude, ready to give all necessary information about the festival and our activities in English and/or Dutch languages. Working hours may vary depending on your availability.

• Production roles

This edition is big, and we have a lot of talented photographers, who would need your help with the creation and taking care of their exhibitions. Are you interested in taking a look behind the scenes at the Rotterdam Photo Festival? Then one of our production roles might be interesting to you. You will work closely with our production team, helping out with building up and taking down all festival-related materials as well as some exhibition materials.

Besides our sincere gratitude and appreciation, volunteering at Rotterdam Photo can offer you such benefits as in-depth working experience in a small but dedicated team, new friends and connections, and of course, an opportunity to be part of the most vibrant Rotterdam photo festivals!

Additionally, we offer our volunteers:

• Access to the festival events ( Rotterdam Photo Talks, night projection)
• Food and drinks during the festival dates
• The work shift is 4 hours per day. We offer a volunteer compensation of 50,-euro for 12 hours of work

We expect all volunteers to take care of travel and accommodation during the festival dates. Unfortunately, we can't cover any related expenses.
