Talking Turtles: World Sea Turtle Day
Join us in celebrating World Sea Turtle Day in June!

Each year, hundreds of sea turtles receive critical injuries from boat strikes. An expected outcome for this type of injury is a buoyancy imbalance which can negatively affect their quality of life and make them unable to survive in the wild. The Living Coast is home to an Atlantic green sea turtle and a Loggerhead sea turtle that both have sustained permanent injuries from a strike to their carapace. Our partner in conservation at SoCal Sea Turtles will be hosting a special Talking Turtles presentation on how boaters can follow easy safety tips to help our local sea turtles thrive in San Diego Bay and beyond!

Did you know that all seven sea turtle species are threatened or endangered? This World Sea Turtle Day, the Living Coast is promoting a healthy and safe habitat for sea turtles in San Diego. At the Living Coast, we are dedicated to educating our community on how you can help protect sea turtles in the wild and how making small changes in your daily life can aid in conserving these vital species.
