Hierarchical modeling software user survey
The R packages unmarked, ubms, spOccupancy, and spAbundance provide a suite of tools for estimating species distributions and abundance patterns across space and time. As the package developers and current maintainers, we are committed to improving the software to meet the needs of the ecological community. While these packages were developed independently, we are hoping to better synergize future development of the packages to avoid repetition and incorporate as much functionality as possible for the user community. We refer to the collective set of four packages as the Ecoverse.

Our goal with this survey is to solicit thoughts and feedback on current Ecoverse packages, gauge user's attitudes towards potential new functionality and features that we are in the midst of planning, and receive other thoughts on potential new features. This will help us to prioritize updates to the package in line with the needs of the user community.

Thank you for filling out this survey, and for your continued support of the Ecoverse packages!

Required
Indicate the priority level you would assign for developing functionality that makes it easier to convert data formatted for unmarked/ubms into spOccupancy/spAbundance format (and vice versa).
*
Indicate the priority level you would assign for new functionality designed to automate the process of data wrangling and formatting for use in all Ecoverse packages.
*
Indicate the priority level you would assign for implementing false positive models explicitly designed to handle automated sensor data (e.g., from ARUs or camera traps) that was processed with Artificial Intelligence (e.g., BirdNet, Wildlife Insights)?
*
Indicate the priority level you would assign for implementing continuous time models.
*
Indicate the priority level you would assign for improving the compatibility of Ecoverse model outputs with broom and other tidyverse packages.
*
Indicate the priority level you would assign for improving the model assessment tools included in existing Ecoverse packages.
*
Indicate the priority level you would assign for creating tools for automatically generating BUGS/nimble code for models supported by Ecoverse packages *
What do you like about the packages? What do you dislike about the packages? Please be specific with what package(s) you're talking about.
Please describe below any other recommendations or suggestions for future enhancements you have for the Ecoverse packages.
