Roots & Shoots Application Fall 2026
Do you enjoy working outside and learning from the land? Would you like to connect with community experts and peers to deepen your learning? Do you want to engage in employability and job skill workshops to increase your employability and find work in the environmental field? Apply to join EYA’s Roots & Shoots Program!

We're looking for six young adults to join this fully-paid job skills program where you will spend 8 weeks learning and working on the land at EYA’s outdoor sites in East Vancouver. 

Join a small team of youth looking to gain work experience and job skills through working and connecting with the land. Get paid to build your employability skills like communication, digital skills, self management, and teamwork. Gain hands-on job skill training in ecological restoration, native plant horticulture, Indigenous plant knowledge, and environmental education.  Contribute to the maintenance and restoration of urban greenspaces in East Vancouver.

Hours: 18 hrs/wk, 10am - 4pm, Tues - Thurs. *excluding statutory holidays

Dates:  September 29 - November 13, 2026

Perks: $18.25/hr, bus passes and lunches provided
*This 
is a fully paid program, where a living stipend is paid out as an hourly wage based on hours attended. This is paid out via biweekly e-transfer, with relevant taxes deducted.
