Social Housing is a sustainable model of publicly owned and publicly developed mixed-income housing that would remain permanently affordable. With Social Housing, local communities have the ability to control development to meet the needs of our community in Bozeman, and public funds are invested and reinvested in a public good - affordable housing.

Creating a Public Housing Authority (PHA) is the first step to developing Social Housing.

The Gallatin County Commission and the Bozeman City Commission are currently considering establishing a Public Housing Authority. We have an open letter of support that we plan to present to Commissioners to show community support. If you support adding this new tool to our affordable housing toolbox, please add your name! We support the establishment of a Public Housing Authority that will be dedicated to the public development and maintenance of permanently affordable housing needed in our community. We support a Public Housing Authority that prioritizes union labor to construct high-quality and long-lasting housing for people working and living in our community.
