Alignment with Mission
The Environmental Caucus of the Michigan Democratic Party (MDP) mission is to engage Michigan Citizens to be guardians of our water, land, air, and biospheres for the optimal public health of all.  Our firm belief is that we will achieve this through environmental education, mitigation of human pollution, restoration of ecosystems, and promoting environmental preservation policies.  The MDP Environmental Caucus seeks to endorse candidates who champion this mission in their leadership, thoughts, and actions.

Fossil Fuels
Environmentalists and activists are seeking to reach carbon neutrality by 2030. When do you think your constituency should reach the 100% net-zero goal? *
Serious changes are essential to eliminate fossil fuel use.  What changes would you make as an elected representative to transition your constituency to 100% renewable energy? *
Do you support the immediate removal of the Line 5 pipeline and oppose any new or replacement  fossil fuel infrastructure under the Great Lakes? *
Banks are currently funding fossil fuels and pipelines.  Divesting from banks and moving to credit unions should be a priority.  What steps would you take to divest your constituencies monies from banks, and other fossil fuel investments in a timely manner? *
Do you support expanding equitable access to the ballot through policy measures such as early voting, absentee ballot pre-processing, and total funding of our election administration at all levels (SOS Bureau of Elections, local clerks)? Explain your answer below.
