Better Together: Building Stronger Families and Communities is a Child Abuse Awareness Month conference dedicated to strengthening families through prevention, collaboration, and community-driven solutions. This full-day event brings together child welfare professionals, community partners, educators, advocates, service providers, and stakeholders who play a critical role in protecting children and supporting family stability.

The conference will focus on increasing awareness of child abuse and neglect while highlighting the importance of cross-system partnerships in prevention and early intervention efforts. Participants will explore protective factors that promote safe, nurturing environments for children and learn evidence-based strategies that strengthen family resilience, parental capacity, and community support networks.

Through keynote presentations, panel discussions, and interactive sessions, attendees will examine trauma-informed approaches, community engagement practices, and coordinated service models that reduce risk factors and improve outcomes for children and families. Emphasis will be placed on collaboration among child welfare agencies, schools, healthcare providers, faith-based organizations, and community-based programs to ensure families receive timely, holistic support.

This conference serves as a call to action—reinforcing the message that child abuse prevention is a shared responsibility and that lasting change occurs when communities work together to support families before crisis occurs.
