Million Words Assignment
As we begin a new school year, I am looking forward to getting to know your child. Knowing what to look out for, what your child may struggle with and what your child excels at helps me to better meet the needs of your child in math class. It is very helpful for us as teachers when parents can share information about their child's talents, interests, health needs, or family. Anything you can tell me to better meet the needs of your child during this year would be appreciated (for example, gets anxious on tests, has difficulty completing homework, loves math and extra challenges, etc.) You know your children so much better than we teachers will ever know them, and I truly appreciate any time you can take to complete this activity. However, this is strictly voluntary. If you're more comfortable answering some prompts, consider these: What are your child's strengths/weaknesses in school? What are your child's interests out of school? What are you and/or your child most looking forward to or concerned about this year?
