Lambda Literary Writers in Schools (WIS) Program Overview
The Lambda Literary Writers in Schools (WIS) Program pairs LGBTQ authors with schools for virtual visits and book discussions. Classroom teachers, GSA leaders, and school librarians may all apply for the program. Grantees will be awarded access to eBooks and receive a virtual live visit with a selected author. Participating grantees must participate in a virtual workshop on October 19th for Campus Librarians and November 15th for everyone else. ALL BASIC INFO FORMS ARE DUE 10/15/2021.

The program is administered by Lambda Literary, entering their 33rd year as a global leader advancing LGBTQ literature, through generous support from the New York City Council.

School Partner Requirements:

--Classroom Teacher/School Librarian should have experience delivering curriculum and instruction with diverse themes
--Classroom Teacher/School Librarian should have school leader approval
--Classroom Teacher/School Librarian should have knowledge of LGBTQ issues
--Classroom Teacher/School Librarian should have approval to attend virtual professional development sessions
