Senior Accountant
Openbay is looking for a Senior Accountant. This is a fantastic development opportunity for a motivated, experienced accounting professional to join a hyper-growth company and learn business operations. This is a hands-on role requiring strategic expertise and a willingness to jump in and execute.

What You’ll Do

Responsibilities will include general ledger accountability, payroll processing, managing the month end close process, implementation of business operations processes, as well as other special projects as assigned.


• Prepare and record asset, liability, revenue, and expense entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
• Support month-end and year-end close processes.
• Prepare monthly account reconciliations.
• Prepare balance sheet, profit and loss, and other statements.
• Billing and collections management, utilizing third party software tools.
• Assist with financial and tax audits and filings.
• Prepare sales and use tax filings as needed.
• Complete other ad hoc requests as assigned by the CEO or Chief Financial Officer.

Payroll Administration:

• Perform all activities necessary to process semi-monthly payrolls, including maintaining related records, reviewing tax reports and voluntary deduction reports, preparing accounting transactions, and preparing special reports for management.
• Manage employee on-boarding for payroll.
• Stock option administration.

Our ideal candidate has:

• 3-5 years of general ledger accounting experience, with at least 2 years of experience in public accounting.
• Strong knowledge of general accounting procedures and principles.
• Understanding of general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close processes.
• Familiar with QuickBooks, highly proficient in Excel.
• Experience working for a high-volume transaction software as a service (SaaS) or subscription company preferred.
• Highly detail-oriented and organized with excellent administration skills.
• Accuracy and attention to detail, thoroughness, and ability to consistently meet deadlines.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Energetic and collaborative team member able to work with the team to achieve company objectives.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• CPA or MBA is preferred but not required.
