Beyond the Stage Youth, a Washington State non-profit, proudly presents its signature writing and performance program where students devise, write, and bring to life their own original production. Youth artists take the lead as writers, collaborators, and performers. Once the script is complete, our team works with students to design, cast, and stage a brand-new world premiere production shared with the community!
This year’s AMPLIFY theme is: “Note to Self.”
We all carry inner voices — reminders, lessons, affirmations, regrets, hopes — that we whisper to ourselves in quiet moments. These are our notes to self. Whether it’s something you wish you’d known earlier, something funny that happened, something you’re still trying to believe, or a truth that keeps you grounded, your note matters.
As part of our devising process, we’re inviting youth, educators, families, and community members to contribute their own notes to self. These can be one sentence or a short paragraph — raw, funny, honest, poetic, or simple. Each one will help shape the original theatre pieces created during AMPLIFY.
Selected "notes" will be used to inspire monologues, scenes, movement pieces, or thematic elements of the show.
Ways to Contribute:
- -Submit a written “note to self” via our online form or at community events.
- -Stay anonymous or include your name/age/location — totally up to you.
- Stay connected to see which notes made it in the show!
