1.
Initially, students must commit to a minimum of one semester’s tuition (or 18 school weeks) and fees. The appropriate fees and charges will apply once the student has commenced, regardless of the number of lessons attended.
2.
A minimum of four weeks’ notice in writing to the Performing Arts Department and the tutor is required from parents if tuition is to cease at any stage or four weeks tuition fees will be charged in lieu.
3.
Fees for 2024 are set in accordance with the minimum Queensland Music Teachers’ Association Fee Structure. Fees for group lessons are adjusted accordingly.
4.
Fees are payable directly to the tutor. Money will not be accepted at the College office for payment of private tuition lessons. Accounts will be issued at the commencement of the term and must be settled by the due date listed on the invoice (within 14 days of issue) or lessons may be suspended until payment is received. A late fee of $25 per term will be incurred for fees paid after the due date.
5.
Lessons are on a rotational basis. Students will leave classes for individual tuition and will negotiate a time in the following week for their lesson which will avoid missing any curriculum lesson more than once in four weeks. Students should use a buddy system for each class to collect any handouts, homework etc. that were covered while they were absent. It is the student’s responsibility to catch up on the worked missed.
6.
Fixed lessons before/after school or at lunchtime are offered on a restricted basis. Only the following students are eligible for fixed times:
•
senior students
•
special needs students
•
students learning two instruments at St Peters
7. Students who learn an ensemble instrument or voice at St Peters Lutheran College Springfield are expected to play and/or sing in at least one ensemble that complements their chosen instrument or voice. Ensembles are a year-long commitment and students are required to attend all rehearsals and performances.
8. Speech and Drama lessons are offered in small groups (2, 3 or 4) for Prep and Year 1, and paired lessons for Years 2-6. Individual lessons are offered to Years 7-12 students, and those seeking to do examinations. Student groupings are by negotiation with the tutor and overseen by the Performing Arts Coordinator.
