San Diego Society of Health-System Pharmacists (SDSHP)

Please use the following form to nominate SDSHP members you feel would be a great fit for our open positions. We are also accepting nominations for 2020 Pharmacist-of-the-Year (POY) and Technician-of-the-Year (TOY) and you may utilize this form as well.

Brief Summary of Duties:

President-Elect: The President-Elect shall be a member of the Board of Directors and perform the duties of the office of the President if the President is unable to do so; should begin to develop preliminary goals and objectives for the following year; shall also be a regional delegate to the CSHP House of Delegates meeting. In charge of nominations and awards. Attend all Board meetings, CSHP HOD meeting at Seminar, Regional Delegates Conference, Affiliate Chapter Presidents Meetings, CSHP or SDSHP Educational Events/Webinars (minimum 2), SDSHP social events, SDSHP Caucus, Open Forum and Town Hall at Seminar, and provide two newsletter items or articles for the chapter website per year.  

Treasurer: The Treasurer shall receive and maintain account of all monies received and distributed by the Society under the direction of the Board of Directors. The Treasurer shall prepare a budget report submitted at each board meeting and annually to the Board of Directors. The Treasurer is responsible for maintaining our nonprofit corporation status every two-year as well as timely filing of the organization’s taxes with the Federal and California Tax Boards as well as the annual audit and just prior to the passage of responsibility to the new Treasurer. Additionally, the Treasurer will maintain other operating activities such the organization’s PO Box, accounting subscription, and liability insurance. Lastly, the Treasurer will keep abreast of changes in the nonprofit regulations in order to maintain the viability of the organization.

Board of Directors: Attend all Board meetings. Be a liaison for one subcommittee at minimum (active engagement). Encourage attendance at CSHP Seminar (If attending then the following apply): 1) Attendance CSHP Seminar HOD meeting; 2) Encourage attendance at Orange county review of proposal meeting (Saturday about one month prior to CSHP Seminar- half day meeting); 3) Attend Open Forum or Town Hall at Seminar (must attend one). Provide two newsletter items for SDSHP newsletter or articles for chapter website per year. Attend SDSHP social events and educational events (minimum one). Attend Industry Night and Installation Gala. Participate in one Regional chapter meeting webinar. Provision of food at one Board meeting (to be reimbursed by treasurer).

Delegate: The delegates are responsible for remaining current on issues involving CSHP that may be presented at the CSHP House of Delegates and should represent SDSHP membership through engaging in discussions with members and elected board members during board & member meetings, proposal review meetings, and SDSHP caucus during Seminar. The delegates shall actively participate in chapter Board meetings, regional delegates conference, Open Forum and Town Hall at CSHP Seminar, and CSHP House of Delegates. Attend all Board meetings. Provide one newsletter item for SDSHP newsletter or article for chapter website per year. Attend SDSHP social events (minimum one). Attend Industry Night and Installation Gala. Provision of food for one Board meeting (to be reimbursed by treasurer).

Pharmacist of the Year Criteria: Pharmacist of the Year candidates will be judged on the following criteria: Must be a SDSHP member; Is or has been a professional mentor and/or role model to students, residents, and other pharmacists in or outside the workplace; is making or has made significant contributions to the profession in a contemporary and/or innovative practice setting; has contributed to advancing the image of the profession of pharmacy in San Diego; Has been actively involved in the organization at the regional and/or state level.

Technician of the Year Criteria: Technician of the Year candidates will be judged on the following criteria: Must be a SDSHP member; is making or has made significant contributions to the profession in a contemporary and/or innovative practice setting; has contributed to advancing the image of the profession of pharmacy in San Diego; has been actively involved in the organization at the regional and/or state level.
