Thank you for your interest in joining NC Child's Youth Advocacy Council. At NC Child we are working to build a state where everyone can thrive, and the voices of young people are vital to that work. Through NC Child's Youth Advocacy Council (YAC) we give young people a voice on the issues that affect their lives.
The YAC provides youth from grade levels 9-12 an opportunity to develop a foundation of skills to effectively advocate for policy solutions.
In addition to an in-person onboarding and monthly virtual meetings there will be opportunities for YAC members to participate in advocacy at the local and state level. They will have the opportunity to discuss issues in their community and to support NC Child's advocacy work.
NC Child will soon be making selections for its 2027 YAC cohort, and we invite you to fill out this brief application in order to be considered.
This application will help NC Child get to know a little bit more about you so that we can put together our team of youth advocates. Take your time and give thoughtful answers. The deadline to submit is July 15. If you have any questions, please email Kelvin Stallings at kelvin@ncchild.org.
