GeoTeachers - Potential Workshop & Field Trip Leaders
GSA is seeking geoscience professionals from academia, government, industry and K-12 Master teachers to help build and implement locally focused field workshops for K-12 teachers. The workshops focus on understanding Earth Science through use of the local landscape via natural outcrops, relevant geologic processes and resource related industrial activity today or in the past. The intent is for the workshops to be conducted annually in the summer in locations that vary within each state from year to year. Volunteers can bring a variety of skills including geoscience expertise, relevant field trip experience, access to industrial or other sites, curriculum development, geoscience teaching and fundraising connections and experience.
